Penne al Buttero
This was served in a hot pan, it was clear that it was fired in their 700 degree brick oven. The dish was amazing. The entire top was crispy which created an entire layer of cheesy penne. Under the top layer was a mixture of ground sausage, peas, tomatoes in a parmigiano cream sauce. Although the menu said hot Italian sausage in addition to the sweet Italian sausage, I didn't feel there was any heat to the dish. This did not detract from the fact that this was an excellent dish. When you compare this dish to ANYTHING served at one of the major franchise restaurants, you will ask yourself why the big boys can't make dishes even remotely as tasty as this one.
